Our Favorite Vacation in the Black forrest Germany

I knew very little about the Black Forrest area, a couple of friends had told me how beautiful it was but I didn't know many people that went to the area for a vacation so had to see for myself, so when Fly Baden invited me to spend a weekend with travel bloggers I jumped at the chance! With an action packed itinerary to cram in, lots to see and do!!

We flew from London Heathrow direct to Baden, We started our trip in the Baden Baden area, It was such a quaint little town with cobbled streets and lots of history, we went to explore the town and take in the wonderful sites, lots of restaurants, the weather was quite warm so we were able to eat outside, the people in Baden Baden are very welcoming and pleasant to talk to. We stayed in the Hotel Merkur in the heart of Baden, a gorgeous hotel!

The next morning we were up early to drive from Baden Baden via the Black Forrest Mountain road to Mehliskopf near Forbach with is a ski slope in winter but converted in to a summer fun wonderland in the summer months.

The views of the Black Forrest on the drive were absolutely breathtaking! An endless view of trees and thatched houses, so much to take in, it was absolutely beautiful, we made the most of the scenery by taking regular photo stops to capture happy memories!!

The Mehliskopf site  features a roller coaster self controlled ride which me and my son went on, it went a lot faster than expected, think my screams could be heart throughout Germany!!!! My son enjoyed  a high tree top activity course with his dad, full of zip wires there were also Mountain karts to rent, restaurants, trampolines, scenic walks  and much more! Me, my partner and our 2 children had an amazing time, spent the morning having lots of fun, we would love to go back in winter to experience the ski slope, can imagine it being amazing fun!

In the afternoon we drove to Karlsruhe to take a visit to the zoo, Karlsruhe is very much a modern town compared to Baden, we travelled using the bus system which was easy and inexpensive to use,  unfortunately it was raining so we had to cut our visit short but returned to a lovely hotel in Karlsruhe town to spend the night!

We had an early depart the next morning to drive over to Europa park, Germany's largest theme park and boy was it big! It is comparable to disneyworld with all the characters but is split in different lands, my kids had a brilliant time on all the rides, so much to see, do and eat!

We stayed in the Bell Roch hotel which is right on the theme park site, it was a fabulous hotel with a real titanic boat feel, even the beds are boats which my kids loved, We even ventured in to the out in to the outdoor pool which was lovely! !!!

I will definitely be back to Baden Baden, perfect hidden gem for a family holiday!
